Homeward Bound

One last espresso. One last look at the city. Hasta luego, España — we already know we're coming back.

Barcelona El Prat Airport

One last Uber through a waking city. The airport at dawn feels different when you know what's waiting for you at the other end. Grab an espresso at the terminal. Sit with it.

Barcelona → Atlanta

Delta DL0195, Terminal 1. The transatlantic in reverse — roughly nine hours back over the ocean. The trip plays back in the window. Sagrada Família light. Flamenco in a courtyard. Bodega de los Secretos by candlelight. Plaza de España at golden hour. Try to hold onto all of it.

Arrive Atlanta

International Terminal. Global Entry kiosks. The jarring reality of American signage and American portion sizes. Layover at Hartsfield-Jackson — time to eat something, decompress, and slowly re-enter the world we left ten days ago.

Atlanta → Columbus

Delta DL2786. The short hop home. An hour in the air, and then Columbus approaches below — familiar and strange at the same time.

Home

Terminal M, Columbus. Ten days, three cities, two high-speed trains, one flamenco show, more tapas than we can count. The bags are heavy and the fridge is empty and we already want to go back.
