/ about

I'm Adam. I design cloud systems that scale, and a life that doesn't sit still.

Platform Architect at Lincoln Financial, based in Columbus, Ohio. My weeks go to designing serverless platforms for enterprise insurance. The rest of my time goes to a golf course, a ski lift, or a new corner of the world with my wife Tsitsi.

The Work

I'm a Platform Architect with 12+ years designing cloud-native enterprise systems in life insurance and financial services. At Lincoln Financial Group, I lead the architecture of the next-generation Life Insurance and Annuity platform on AWS, a distributed, event-driven ecosystem of 30+ serverless microservices powering the company's retail product pipeline.

My career spans the full arc from hands-on financial modeling to leading engineering teams and setting enterprise-scale architecture direction. That gives me a rare blend of deep insurance domain knowledge and modern cloud engineering, serverless design, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and microservices. Earlier at IBM, I built applications for the Watson AI platform during its formative years on an internationally distributed agile team.

What I care about most: systems that are simple to reason about, teams that ship with confidence, and architecture decisions that still look right three years later.

The Life

Home is Columbus, Ohio — a vibrant, energetic city with a ridiculous international food scene and far more to do than people expect. I share it with my wife Tsitsi, who I married in 2024, and our cat William, who supervises every work-from-home day with mild disapproval.

Two summers consulting in Pécs, Hungary early in my career taught me that the fastest way to sharpen how you think is to drop yourself somewhere unfamiliar. New language, new customs, new everything. I've chased that feeling ever since, and I try to bring the same curiosity to the systems I design and the places I go.

Most of my time off goes to things that get me outside and moving: a course in the summer, a mountain in the winter, and a flight out whenever I can swing it.

How I spend the weekends

01 · GOLFWeekend tee timesMost summer weekends I'm bouncing between Columbus-area municipal courses, rarely the same one twice.
02 · SKIINGChasing fresh snowAs many winter days on the slopes as I can get, usually up at Wisp Resort.
03 · TRAVELAlways planning the nextPassport stays ready. Hungary, the Netherlands, and Thailand are favorites so far, Japan up next.
04 · FAMILYHome baseMarried to Tsitsi since 2024, plus our cat William supervising from the windowsill.
